ITSCI is delighted to welcome Ian Margerison, the newly appointed Executive Marketing Manager of the Tantalum-Niobium International Study Center (T.I.C.), to the ITSCI Governance Committee. With over 25 years of experience in the tantalum industry, working with a number of key industry players, Ian has developed an in-depth understanding of the tantalum supply chain. With this extensive industry experience, Ian will help ensure that ITSCI remains focused on delivering the highest support to companies and stakeholders.
‘I have long held a great respect for the ITSCI model in its practical support to industry. By providing reliable and consistent information on 3T supply chains, ITSCI has allowed companies the ability to demonstrate responsible sourcing from high-risk areas such as central Africa. I am pleased to be given the opportunity to participate in the Programme’s evolution and development.’
ITSCI aims to encourage responsible sourcing through shared due diligence including risk and incident management, and traceability in 3T supply chains. By providing risk mitigation tools and credible traceability information to member companies and government partners, ITSCI allows key stakeholders to take appropriate and effective decisions on due diligence in line with the OECD recommendations. The joint industry initiative is inclusive and operates at scale with on-the-ground teams in Burundi, DRC, Rwanda and Uganda.
ITSCI standards are independently confirmed as 100% aligned with the OECD Due Diligence Guidance for Responsible Supply Chains of Minerals from Conflict-Affected and High-Risk Areas.
