We are pleased to announce the start of practical implementation of the iTSCi Programme in Burundi, with the official launch ceremony which took place in Burundi on Friday 9th May 2014, by the Burundi National Minister of Energy and Mines, E. Mr. Come Manirakiza. The ICGLR statement was done by the Ambassador, Ambayi Ligabo, Director of Democracy and Good Governance Programme. Different key stakeholders of the mining sector in Burundi were also present, including the Regional and national civil society, national and local authorities, companies, embassy and international NGO’s. The iTSCi tagging launch ceremony took place on 12th May 2014 at the Kivuvu mine at TAMINCO concession, Commune Kabarore, in Kayanza province, Burundi.
