We are pleased to share our 2024 Annual Report, highlighting key achievements, challenges, and improvements of the ITSCI Programme.

Building on the positive results from our second Alignment Assessment (AA) in 2023, which independently concluded that ITSCI is ‘Fully Aligned’ with the OECD Guidance, we are now implementing an ambitious improvement action plan to strengthen the ITSCI Programme and continuously improve our activities and processes.
Operating in Conflict-Affected and High-Risk Areas (CAHRA) presents ongoing challenges. The security situation in North and South Kivu, DRC, continues to present serious risks, while the presence of both state and non-state armed groups severely affects local communities. However, a blanket de-risking or ‘cut-and-run’ approach for minerals from the region risks reversing the significant progress made over the past 15 years and undermining the region’s mining sector development and overall governance. A collaborative approach remains the most effective way of managing these risks and promoting responsible mining practices to continue to support local communities.
